Our Story: From L&R Tire Shop to Tampa's Truck Experts

The Beginning
LR Wheels N Lifts opened its doors on Hillsborough Avenue in Town 'n' Country, Tampa, FL as a neighborhood tire and wheel shop. Known locally as L&R Tire Shop, we built our reputation on honest service, fair pricing, and quality work for the Tampa Bay community.
Growing Our Craft
We expanded into lift kit installation, custom wheels, and heavy duty truck alignment services. Many of our customers drove superduty trucks from various brands, and we developed a deep expertise with these heavy-duty vehicles across Ford, Chevy, GMC, and RAM platforms.
Finding Our Niche
We began specializing in diesel truck repair, particularly Ford's 6.7L Powerstroke engine. Word spread, and soon we were handling diesel work not just for our own customers but for other dealers across the Tampa Bay area. Combined with our growing tire, wheel, and lift kit business, we had built a deep mechanical expertise that set the stage for what came next.
Dealer License Acquired
After years of installing tires, wheels, and lift kits — and repairing diesels for customers and other dealers — we earned our dealer license. It was a natural next step: we already knew these trucks inside and out. Now we source inventory from IAA and Copart auctions, choosing trucks we can repair in-house — whether it's collision damage, a mechanical issue, or a clean theft recovery. That hands-on expertise is what lets us offer prices thousands below traditional dealerships.

We purchase trucks from IAA and Copart auctions at significantly reduced prices. These vehicles were totaled by insurance companies for various reasons — collision damage, mechanical failures, theft recovery, flood, or even hail. As a repair shop first, we know which ones are worth buying and can bring back to safe, reliable condition.
In-House Repairs
As a shop with over a decade of experience, we handle most repairs ourselves. We don't outsource to expensive body shops or mechanics, which means we control both quality and costs.
