Majority of hubs utilize a orbital roll-formed design which applies pre-load to enhance performance and decrease failure. The spindle is rolled over the top of the bearing and bearings are pre-loaded during roll-form process at the assembly stage to ensure that then axle nut can no longer be over-tightened.
