Jeep Alignment in Tampa FL
Lifted Wrangler and Gladiator alignment with caster correction, track bar centering and a before-and-after printout.
LR Wheels N Lifts aligns stock and lifted Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators at 6923 W Hillsborough Ave in Tampa. A stock-height Jeep is $150 and a lifted Jeep is $150 to $210. A Jeep is not aligned like a half-ton pickup. The Wrangler JK, JL and Gladiator JT all run a solid front axle located by control arms and a track bar, so there are no cam bolts to turn for caster or camber the way there are on an F-150 or Silverado. When a Jeep is lifted, the axle rotates and shifts sideways: caster drops, the steering wheel ends up off-center, and the axle sits to one side under the body. Driven that way, a lifted Jeep wanders on the highway, wears the front tires on the edges, and is far more likely to develop death wobble. The fix is to put caster back with adjustable control arms or correction brackets, re-center the axle with the track bar, set toe at the tie rod, and center the steering wheel at the drag link. That is what we do on every Jeep alignment. Lifted Jeeps are one of the most common vehicles on our rack, and if we install your Jeep lift the alignment is included at no extra charge.
Why This Alignment Matters
What you get from a proper alignment at our Tampa shop.
Caster Put Back After the Lift
Lifting a solid-axle Jeep rolls the front axle forward and takes caster out. Low caster is what makes a lifted Wrangler wander and refuse to return to center after a turn. We measure it and correct it with the adjustable control arms or brackets your lift uses, typically to 5 to 6 degrees positive on a lifted JK.
Death Wobble Diagnosed, Not Guessed
Death wobble on a Jeep almost always traces to low caster combined with a loose or worn part: track bar, tie rod ends, ball joints or control arm bushings. A new steering stabilizer only hides it. We put the Jeep on the rack, measure the angles, and check each joint before recommending any parts.
Axle Centered, Steering Wheel Straight
A lift pulls the front axle to one side because the track bar swings in an arc. We re-center the axle with an adjustable track bar, then center the steering wheel at the drag link so the stability control reads straight-ahead correctly.
Bigger Tires That Wear Evenly
A set of 35-inch or 37-inch tires is the most expensive wear item on a lifted Jeep. Correct toe and caster are what keep them from cupping and feathering. Every alignment leaves with a printout showing the before and after numbers.
Trucks & Vehicles We Align
Jeep Alignment platforms we work on every day.
Jeep Wrangler JL (2018 and newer)
The JL is sensitive to steering wheel centering after a lift. We set toe and re-center the wheel at the drag link, and correct caster with adjustable lower control arms or geometry brackets on lifts of 2.5 inches and up.
Jeep Wrangler JK (2007-2018)
The most commonly lifted Jeep we align. Lifted JKs lose caster quickly, and a lifted JK usually drives best at 5 to 6 degrees positive. We also check the track bar bolts and bushings, the usual starting point for JK death wobble.
Jeep Gladiator JT
Same solid front axle design as the JL on a longer wheelbase. Gladiators that tow or carry weight in the bed are aligned with that use in mind, since rear load changes how the front end sits.
Jeep Wrangler TJ and older
Coil-sprung TJs align on the same principles: caster through the control arms, toe at the tie rod, axle centered by the track bar. Worn bushings are common at this age and are checked before the angles are set.
Long-arm and axle-swapped Jeeps
Long-arm kits, aftermarket steering and swapped Dana 60 axles have no factory spec to aim for. We set custom caster, toe and steering geometry for how the Jeep is built and how it is used.
What to Expect
Our alignment process from start to finish.
Initial Inspection & Measurement
We put your truck on the alignment rack and take precise measurements of the current caster, camber, and toe angles on all wheels. This baseline tells us exactly what needs adjustment.
Caster, Camber & Toe Adjustment
Our technicians adjust each angle to manufacturer specifications or custom settings for your build. On solid axle trucks, this involves adjusting the axle housing, track bar, and tie rod ends.
Before & After Printout
You receive a printed report showing the exact measurements before and after the alignment, so you can see the corrections made and keep the data for your records.
Road Test
We take the truck for a test drive to verify straight tracking, no steering pull, and proper steering wheel centering. If anything is off, we go back to the rack and fine-tune.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this alignment service.
How much does a Jeep alignment cost in Tampa?
A Jeep alignment at LR Wheels N Lifts is $150 at stock height and $150 to $210 on a lifted Jeep. Where a lifted Jeep lands in that range depends on the lift and on how much suspension work is needed to get the angles to hold. If we install your Jeep lift kit, the alignment is included at no extra charge. Every alignment comes with a before-and-after printout.
Does my Jeep need an alignment after a lift kit?
Yes. Any lift on a Wrangler or Gladiator changes caster and toe and shifts the front axle sideways. Even a 2-inch spacer lift moves the numbers enough to cause wandering and uneven tire wear. Have it aligned right after the install.
Will an alignment fix death wobble?
It fixes the alignment half of the problem. Death wobble usually needs two things to happen: caster that is too low, and a worn or loose steering or suspension part. We measure the alignment and inspect the track bar, tie rod ends, ball joints and bushings together. If a part is worn, it has to be replaced before the alignment will hold.
Why is my steering wheel crooked after lifting my Jeep?
Lifting a solid-axle Jeep changes the angle of the drag link, which turns the steering wheel off-center even though the tires point straight. It is corrected by adjusting the drag link. It should be fixed promptly because an off-center wheel can trigger the stability control light.
Can caster be adjusted on a Jeep Wrangler?
Not with factory parts. A stock Wrangler has fixed-length control arms and no caster adjustment. On a lifted Jeep, caster is corrected with adjustable control arms, geometry correction brackets or offset bushings. If your lift did not include them, we can tell you which your Jeep needs after measuring it.
How long does a Jeep alignment take?
Plan on 2 to 2.5 hours for a solid-axle Jeep. There are more adjustment points than on an independent front suspension, and the axle has to be re-centered with the track bar before the final toe is set.
Tampa Bay is Jeep country. Wranglers on mud-terrains run out to Honeymoon Island and Caladesi on weekends, and plenty of them are daily driven on I-275 and the Veterans Expressway during the week. Highway speed is where a lifted Jeep with low caster shows it, and the brackish Gulf air across Pinellas rusts track bar bolts and tie rod sleeves, so on a coastal Jeep we plan extra time to free those adjusters cleanly.
