Truck Alignment Cost in Tampa (2026): Lifted & Heavy Duty Price Guide

A truck alignment in Tampa costs $140 to $220 at LR Wheels N Lifts: $140 for cars, crossovers and SUVs, and $220 for lifted, leveled, heavy duty and dually trucks, which are most of the vehicles we align. If you are getting a lift kit installed, the alignment should be included in the install - at LR Wheels N Lifts it always is.

That is the short answer. The longer answer - what actually drives the price, why some shops charge double for lifted trucks, and when an alignment should cost you nothing - is below.

2026 Alignment Prices by Truck Type

Here is what alignment costs at LR Wheels N Lifts in Tampa in 2026:

Around Tampa, chain shops advertise alignments from $89 to $129 - for stock vehicles. Add a lift, 35s, or a solid front axle, and most of them either decline the job or quote $180+ with a disclaimer that they will set it to factory specs. More on why that disclaimer matters below.

What Affects the Price of a Truck Alignment?

Four things move the price of a truck alignment: the front axle type (solid axles take longer than independent suspension), how far the lift and hardware move the geometry from stock, the tire size the rack has to handle, and whether worn parts have to be replaced before the angles will hold:

2-Wheel, 4-Wheel or Axle Alignment: Which Does Your Truck Need?

2-wheel (front-end) alignment adjusts only the front wheels - caster, camber, and toe. It is appropriate for solid-rear-axle trucks where the rear axle has no adjustment, which covers most pickups. This is the standard truck alignment.

4-wheel alignment measures all four wheels and references the rear thrust angle when setting the front. If your truck has had frame or rear suspension work, tracks crooked (dog-tracking), or runs an adjustable rear setup, this is the right call.

Axle alignment corrects the position of the axle housing itself - relevant after an accident, a bent housing, or on trucks where the thrust angle is off because the rear axle is not square to the frame. If your truck drives straight but the body looks slightly rotated relative to the direction of travel, this is the conversation to have. We cover the heavy duty side of this in our heavy duty truck alignment guide.

Why Do Lifted Trucks Cost More to Align (and Get Turned Away)?

Call five alignment shops in Tampa and ask if they will align a Super Duty on 37s with a 6-inch lift. Two will say no outright. Two will say yes but set it to factory specs. Maybe one actually knows what caster a lifted solid-axle truck needs.

Factory alignment specs assume factory ride height. Lift the truck and the steering geometry rotates: caster drops, camber shifts, and toe changes as the tie rods operate at new angles. Setting a lifted truck to stock specs - which is what the alignment machine's database will suggest - often leaves caster too low, and low caster on a solid axle is the recipe for wandering, twitchy steering, and eventually death wobble.

A proper lifted-truck alignment uses corrected targets for the lift height: typically 4-6 degrees of caster on a heavy duty solid axle, near-zero camber, and a slight toe-in that accounts for larger tires. Getting there may require adjustable control arms, caster shims, or offset ball joints - parts a general shop does not stock. That expertise is what the price difference buys. If you want the full explanation of what each angle does, read our caster, camber and toe guide.

What Does a Proper Alignment Include?

A proper truck alignment is more than setting toe and printing a sheet. At LR Wheels N Lifts, every alignment includes:

If a shop hands you keys without a printout, you do not know what you paid for. Always ask for the numbers.

When Should an Alignment Be Free?

An alignment should be included - not an upsell - whenever suspension geometry changes. That means:

Every lift kit and leveling kit installed at LR Wheels N Lifts includes the alignment in the quoted price.

What Does Skipping an Alignment Cost?

The $140-$220 alignment looks optional until you price what bad alignment destroys:
